The new site is finally live! And damn, it is so hard to design for yourself. Designers – I know you hear me here. This date is also extra meaningful as this marks the first anniversary of my full time self employment – whewww. When I first launched back in August of 2013, I feel like I rushed a bit into a brand and website design so I could get to work on making this dream a reality. I have evolved as a designer over the past year, as we all do, but definitely feel like there were many aspects of my old brand that are just “me.” So I hung on to those oldie-but-goodies from my former self and added in some brush pen work, palms and a mid-century/coastal flare to form – what I hope is – a more polished Salted Ink. Thank you all for your support through my launch build up and I hope you like the new look. A special thank you to Dana Hawley Photography for these lovely pics you’ll see around the site.

Love the new brand look and site! The little additions of angled cuts, and overlays works really well, a nice subtle and fresh addition. Well done!
Thank you so much for your sweet feedback, Gwen! I am so glad you like it. You know it is so hard to design for yourself!
Sometimes it feels nearly impossible! I’ve been avoiding it for awhile now, but need to tackle it again very soon! You make it look so easy!
Gwen I totally hear you! I can’t tell you how many different directions I wanted to take this along the way. I just had to eventually make a decision and go with it. Good luck with your redesign. I know it will look amazing!
This new rebrand is GORGEOUS!! Just lovely, congrats!
Thank you! And thank you so much for stopping by Shae!
No problemo! It reminds me I need to truly go ahead and re-do my site, it’s been time!
Love it, Sara! I know how hard it is to design for yourself and you did AWESOME! It’s definitely so very you 🙂
Thank you Haley! I know you understand. I hope you are doing well and we need to catch up soon.
I think your new site is so cool! I really love the layout, the gradient background, everything!
Thanks so much Yuni! Awesome of you to stop by.
I love your website design. Kudos!
Thanks Michelle! I really appreciate it 🙂
I love your new design, Sara! That navigation menu is really cool.
Thanks Carmia! I love your brand colors!
The new website is stunning, and I just started redoing my website and updating my brand and I hear you it’s taken twice as long than it would working with a client.
Thanks Catherine. I know, it’s so hard to design for yourself. Best of luck with your rebrand! I look forward to seeing it 🙂
I love the design you have done! I am a new visitor to your site, and I am very inspired by your design work. I have just got out of college with a graphic design degree, I want to start my own business but I don’t know where to start. How did you come up with “Salted Ink”? And where did you begin your business? And the font you used for your logo, what is it called if you don’t mind me asking?
Hi Corinna – Thanks for stopping by! My advice would be to work hard and defining your individual style and brand and be sure to choose a name that means something to you (and has an available domain of course). Spend time on your business plan, your goals, and what type of clients you want to attract. The text in my logo is my handwriting with a brush pen 🙂 Good luck to you!
Amazing work! I love your designs. I am new to your site and absolutely loving your work! All the best for 2015! I have also just finished refurbishing my blog. Would love some advice on what you think. Love your new look, we are our own worst critics when it comes to doing stuff for yourself, but great job!
Shanna | My Curves and Lashes
Hi Shanna – thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments. Congrats on your new site as well. I really like the black and white with pops of your coral color 🙂 The menu seems to be running into the header a bit, but overall it looks great. All the best to you in 2015!
Thanks for your feedback! I changed the padding of my header so it’s further down now.
Your designs are so flawless and beautiful. I’ll definitely pass this onto my team at my Chicago web design company . Salted Ink is wonderful!
Thanks so much Integraphix 🙂
