Brand Launch: Swanky I Do’s
Swanky I Do’s is Orlando’s premier wedding and event planning company owned and operated by Stephanie Hunicke, lead designer and planner who was so wonderful to work with. Stephanie was looking to create a more cohesive brand identity for her already successful and established wedding and event planning business. We decided on a neutral color palette with a pop of gold foil and focused on showcasing her black and white photos in her branding material for a true “swanky” feel. Her logo consists of a hand lettered brush pen and a thin serif font. Check out the details of our process below along with the final product.

LOGO CONCEPTS
Stephanie was looking for the logos focus to be on placed on the word “swanky” with little or no imagery involved.
FINAL BRAND STYLING
With a slight edit to the “k and y”, the brush pen logo was the winner and we chose a geo diamond mark as an element and pattern for branding accents.
Brand Launch – Little Free Radical
If you love Etsy and handmade goods, you have probably already heard of Little Free Radical. Crystal, owner and mastermind behind LFR, sells handmade and eco friendly, locally manufactured products perfect for your next party, wedding or photo shoot. Coming from a formerly very colorful brand, Crystal was looking for a more minimal color palette this time around and really wanted to something with a retro/vintage feel. For the inspiration, we combined a couple shades of mint, black and gray as well as a dark kraft that she plans to use for her new packaging.
Once we established the overall mood and color palette for her new brand development, I got to work on the logo design. I had so many different ideas for this one that I actually ended up presenting quite a long list of options. I put together a variety of hand drawn lettering and elements as well as some fun font combinations. Here are the samples:
After seeing the different logo options, Crystal stuck true to her initial retro vision but also loved a lot of the elements in the other concepts like the party hat and silhouette. So, we combined and expanded on all of her favorite things to form one pretty awesome brand with lots of product sketches to be used on her new packaging. We also created some cool little tags, stickers, and stamps to get her started with plans to break ground on her new website in the fall.
Style Me Pretty Feature – Mint 102 Wedding Branding
Angela and I are always flattered to have our work from Mint 102 featured on Style Me Pretty, but this time is just a little extra special to me. The New Salted Ink
The new site is finally live! And damn, it is so hard to design for yourself. Designers – I know you hear me here. This date is also extra meaningful as this marks the first anniversary of my full time self employment – whewww. When I first launched back in August of 2013, I feel like I rushed a bit into a brand and website design so I could get to work on making this dream a reality. I have evolved as a designer over the past year, as we all do, but definitely feel like there were many aspects of my old brand that are just “me.” So I hung on to those oldie-but-goodies from my former self and added in some brush pen work, palms and a mid-century/coastal flare to form – what I hope is – a more polished Salted Ink. Thank you all for your support through my launch build up and I hope you like the new look. A special thank you to Dana Hawley Photography for these lovely pics you’ll see around the site.

Brand Launch: Calamia & Co. Real Estate Group
Calamia & Company Real Estate Group is the best of the best in domestic and international real estate in the Pheonix/Scottsdale, AZ area. They really wanted to build a unique and modern brand that would visually stand apart from their competitors and appeal to their higher end clientele. As part of the larger Berkshire Hathaway Home Services umbrella, they also had to be sure that their new palette would include the BHHS cabernet and cream colors, yet be able to stand on it’s own when needed. We started by combining a limited color palette of blacks, grays and kraft to the already set cabernet and creams to create a lovely starting point.

After we nailed down the color palette and overall feel with some angular patterns and tall clean sans serif fonts, we moved to the logo design portion of the process. The logo concepts for this phase are shown below:
We went back for a round of revisions to the initial presentation and the final logo incorporated everything that the Calamia & Co team wanted in their new look including a boarder, mix of sans serif and serif fonts, a slim inline font and a circular submark. A big thanks to Megan for choosing me to be a part of their team branding project and I hope you guys enjoy your new look!
Coming this August…
So pumped to announce the launch of the new Salted Ink coming this Summer! One year ago this August, I took a huge leap of faith and left the comfort of my agency gig to hit the ground running full time with Salted Ink and Mint 102. It’s been a crazy year full of long days (and nights), branding madness, some seriously awesome clients, lots of learning – I couldn’t be more grateful for every single bit of it.
What better way to celebrate all this goodness than with a little makeover of my own? I can’t wait to show off my new full brand and site design on August 1st and I hope you guys come back to check it out. A special thank you to Dana Hawley Photography for the awesome photo above and more to be featured on the new site soon.
Brand Refresh and Website Launch: Leslie Kerrigan Photography
It’s been a busy week ’round here and I am so excited to launch this little beauty. I had the pleasure of working with Leslie, a senior photography guru and founder the popular Seniorologie, on her own personal photography brand styling and custom wordpress website design. When Leslie and I met, she already had an amazing “LK” mark designed for her by Ashley Jankowski of the so very talented Braizen design team, so she just needed a little brand styling and color palette decisions to go along with her already strong mark before we moved onto her custom wordpress website design. Leslie was amazing to work with and already had a pretty good idea of the direction she wanted to take her new home on the web. With a little collaboration, we came up with the design and my team of developers worked hard to make it super user friendly for Leslie on the backend…which is almost as awesome as the what you guys see on the front end of the site. Show Leslie some love and check out some of her amazing work at her new home, lesliekerriganphotography.com!
Brand Launch: Dalla Vita
When Cali contacted me earlier this year about branding her new succulent delivery business, I knew I had to be a part of this awesome project. Cali and her brother Elliot live out in Santa Barbara and are simply amazing at designing the most beautifully handcrafted succulent arrangements that you’ve ever seen. Cali had a unique vision for Dalla Vita and it was my pleasure to help her bring it to life. We hand drew some of her favorite succulents and paired it with a simple sans serif font combination. The bright colors and clean white background throughout the new Dalla Vita brand and give off that fresh, vibrant look we were shooting for. You can check out some snap shots from our design process below along with a few images of their beautiful succulent arrangements…but we aren’t done quite yet. Currently, we are hard at work on her new custom Shopify website design launching later this summer which will feature online and same-day delivery options for these lovely little arrangements in the Santa Barbara area.
